Abby Ehler
Abby has a working career in the yachting industry, both on and off the water. Abby’s entire sailing experience has been in a team environment. She competed in the 2001-02 Volvo Ocean Race with Amer Sports Too. In 2003 she won both the Rolex Fastnet Race and Rolex Middle Sea Race. In the 2014/15 Volvo Ocean Race Abby was the boat captain onboard Team SCA keeping on top of the wear and tear and making sure the boat was in tip top condition. She went on to compete in the 2017-18 Volvo Ocean Race with Team Brunel, skippered by Bouwe Bekking, the first edition of the Race to actively promote mixed gender teams. Abby’s shore side experiences include working for the America’s Cup Event Authority during the 34th and 35th America’s Cup, as well as SailGP. Abby knows the importance of sun protection for our skin, as sailors are at a higher risk for skin cancer. Equally important is the protection of our environment and our seas which allow us to enjoy the sport that we enjoy so much. Harken Derm shares the same passions, and are excited to continue and grow our mission of Saving Our Skin and Our Seas!
"Being an ‘outdoorsy’ person and spending so much time outside in the elements both at work and leisure it’s vital to be protected. As professional sailors we seek out the best sailing kit, the grippiest shoes, the geekiest data yet it can be easy to overlook skincare! I’m happy to have discovered Harken Derm, I love the before and after products and the fact it is linked to sailing by its brand makes it feel qualified for the job!"
